Highlights of Sablan

Sablan lies west of Baguio on Naguilian Road, a warmer, lower municipality of fruit farms and hillside lots about half an hour from the city.

Location and access

Naguilian Road descends west from Baguio through Sablan on its way to Burgos and Naguilian in La Union. Poblacion and Banangan sit on or near the road; Bayabas, Banengbeng, Kamog and Pappa spread across the slopes on either side.

Climate

Sablan is markedly lower than Baguio, so it is warmer and drier. It is one of the few places where a buyer can be within commuting distance of Baguio and still grow lowland fruit.

Farming

The municipality is known for guyabano, papaya, banana and other fruit, and hosts an annual fruit festival. Most parcels that change hands are farm lots and small hillside home sites rather than subdivision lots.
